A graduate of the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Dr. Jolie Katherine “Katie” Skelton completed her residency training in the Department of Psychiatry at the renowned University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center located in Dallas, Texas. She then completed her fellowship training at the University of Texas at Houston in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Katie Skelton, Child Psychiatrist, is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry. Dr. Skelton strives to utilize her education and board certifications to provide compassionate, individualized patient care to children and adolescents affected by mental illness.

Currently, Dr. Skelton maintains an active practice, New Braunfels Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, PLLC, providing kids and teens with customized, evidence-based treatment plans designed to promote mental health and overall wellness. She merges psychotherapy techniques into the medication management session so each patient receives individualized psychiatric services in the management of ADHD (ADD), depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

Dr. Katie Skelton, child and adolescent psychiatrist, prides herself on academic honors and leadership roles. Some of her honors include Outstanding Resident Contribution to Medical Student Education, the Mary Gibbs Jones/Houston Endowment Academic Scholarship and the Tulane Distinguished Scholars Academic Scholarship. Dr. Skelton’s past leadership roles include Junior League of Houston, Junior League of Dallas, Class Representative for the Psychiatry Residents Organization, Co-President of the American Medical Women’s Association, and member of Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity.
